Many toys use batteries that are difficult to recycle or contain heavy metals.

Estamos en medio de una revolución sexual. En los últimos años la industria que produce juguetes sexuales crece más de 30% al año y genera millones y millones de ventas annuales. Pero hay un pero: muchos de los juguetes sexuales actualmente en el mercado no son exactamente ecológicos, y en un estudio encontraron que un alto porcentaje contenían peligrosas concentraciones de sustancias toxicas como los ésteres de ftalato, sustancias que tanto el EU como los EEUU ya han prohibido en la fabricaciòn de los juguetes infantiles debido a su toxicidad. Muchos juguetes utilizan pilas, que son difíciles de reciclar o contienen metales pesados.
